About

I'm Anneka, a copywriter and editor originally from Northamptonshire, England.

After obtaining an all-encompassing Bachelor of Arts degree in English (covering everything from linguistics to literature and philosophy) during my student years in Sheffield, I turned my love of language into work and headed to Hong Kong as a fresh faced 21 year old, where I spent three years teaching (and in the process learning more about) my native language to children of all ages and developing curriculum to be used in the classroom.

On my return to the U.K. in 2015, I shifted the direction of my career and began writing full time. Since then, my work has taken me on a journey spanning multiple industries with my words reaching diverse audiences across the globe.

No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.
— John Keating, Dead Poets Society

Why I Write

I remember watching Dead Poets Society as a child. An avid reader and journal keeper for almost as long as I can remember, this film was a huge inspiration to me and remains close to my heart to this day. Words, at the end of the day, are our main means of communication. Words are a powerful tool with the ability to inspire, connect and create change if used both skilfully and with integrity. This quote always stood out to me and the sentiment is at the heart of my work.
